Social matchmaking platform

Add player compatibility to multiplayer matchmaking.

Gamers Framework is a proposed developer API for forming groups around social fit and reliability while your existing systems continue to enforce skill, latency, queue, role, region, and platform constraints.

What social matchmaking adds

A conventional queue answers whether players can enter the same match. Social matchmaking adds a separate question: given the eligible population, which group is most likely to communicate, pursue compatible goals, and choose to play together again?

Declared preferences

Communication style, schedule, social goals, role preference, and play style.

Game context

Mode, rank band, region, platform, team composition, and other studio-owned constraints.

Relationship outcomes

Repeat sessions and other agreed feedback that can improve future recommendations.

A complementary decision layer

The platform is not intended to replace a studio's authoritative matchmaking service. Instead, it can rank or recommend compatible groups inside the eligible set the game provides. The game keeps control over queue policy, safety enforcement, and the final formation decision.

Potential multiplayer use cases

Live-service retention

Help players find teammates worth returning for across sessions.

New-player onboarding

Build groups around shared learning intent and communication expectations.

Co-op and competitive squads

Combine social fit with the roles and constraints required by the mode.

Developer-preview scope

Gamers Framework is currently recruiting design partners. Recommendation controls, production interfaces, service levels, pricing, and success metrics have not been finalized. The first integrations will be defined around specific studio needs.
